The Yin And Yang Of It

In my view, Balance is another missing bit of the puzzle which we need to bring everything together and in alignment with each other. There is no point in being Peaceful if there is a majority creating Chaos. There is no benefit to be gained from promoting Unity if a higher percentage believe in Separation. Nurturing others effectively is made all the more difficult where there is an excess of Neglect. And you won’t get complete Cooperation if there are those who want to control everything themselves and create imbalance and foment Resistance.
I think we all agree that we are experiencing Life in a world of duality, a world of opposites. If there’s Up then there’s a Down, where there is Water there is also Land, we experience Day and Night, Soft and Hard and so on.
What we are perhaps not so aware of is that there is a little bit of each in the other. Now you might say that where there is total darkness there is no light and that is true, but only from our perspective. For example, bats live in what we would term as total darkness, yet they can fly around unimpeded using both sonar and also being able to detect whatever refracted light is available. Other creatures in the deepest depths of our oceans where no sunlight penetrates are still successful in finding their meals by using other heightened senses. They ‘see’ differently to locate their prey.
There are also creatures who are able to live on both land and in water, microbes who can survive without air, or in areas where there is intense heat as well as below zero temperatures. We Humans are also creatures of duality as some of us can lie out in the Sun all day and others burn after a few minutes, or some feel the cold easily and others walk around in Winter seemingly impervious to the freezing weather.
This is all emphasised by the Yinyang Symbol which I am sure we are all familiar with. Those two fish-like halves of black and white each have an ‘eye’ which is the opposite of its main shade, a black one in the white section and white in the black section, forming a perfect circle.
Whilst in meditation, I contemplated the role of the Ego and how it correlates with Shadow Energy, the Yin and Yang of it all. This led me to surmising about Satan or Lucifer or whatever this entity is really known as, as he seems to have several names. In the Book of Revelation, he’s called the Morning Star and in the Apocryphal Book of Enoch he’s called Samyaza (Shemyaza), the leader of The Watchers who were tasked with looking after us in the days before the Deluge.
Is there perhaps a correlation between the Anunnaki and The Watchers? The story goes that they had sexual relations with Human women who subsequently gave birth to the giants known as the Nephilim, and they also apparently taught us everything from Fire to Magic and fell from grace as a result because they ‘disobeyed God’. However, as we are All Spirit, One with God, Spirit in Human Form enjoying Physical experiences, why would what The Watchers did be an issue?
Perhaps it was because we, as the Offspring, would have gained instant knowledge of Who and What we really are, but are we not learning that now? Or maybe it was a potential ‘Cat out of the Bag’ situation where we would have learned the ‘Secret’ way too early and that spoiled the surprise. Whatever the reason it must have been reversed or subdued and covered over since then, or most of that Knowledge was lost in the Deluge and only now starting to resurface.
I have always maintained that in every Myth and Legend there is a grain, or even a bushel, of Truth and I also believe that the Bible book of Revelation holds the Key to who we truly are in terms of ‘No Doubt About It Certainty’, everything that went on and why, unless it, too, has been ‘Doctored’ by Pope Caesar at Nicaea!
With all this in mind, I came to the possible conclusion that the Ego is also that Shadow Energy within all of us and not inherently Bad or Evil or something to be Destroyed which, as I share in my book, is impossible anyway. From that aspect, could it be a possibility that Samyaza wasn’t inherently Bad and it was only afterwards, after his apparent ‘Fall from Grace’ that the Finger Pointing started?
Something else to consider is the fact that God, Source, All That Is, is the very epitome of Love and Compassion so why was Samyaza not forgiven when Enoch went to Source to petition on his behalf? What if it wasn’t Source who Enoch went to speak to, because Samyaza could have done that himself, but another Representative, someone who was equal to Samyaza but with more Authority? Could it have been Anunnaki or other Off-worlders and this was all to do with an Internal Dispute, Political Shenanigans, as recorded in Myth and Legend? I’ll let that go for now as it is way too complex a topic to include in this post, especially as I’m trying to keep things as simple as possible.
Yin Yang Balance
Whenever it comes to Unity we Humans love talking more about it than actually doing something about it. Lots of Intentions, very little Practical. This is probably due to a distorted belief that we are Separate from each other, and it permeates all our societies. We believe we are separate from each other as individuals, as communities, as nations, as races, as Humans, as Species, as Earthlings, as land mammals, as whatever. Nothing could be further from the Truth. We are actually In Union with each other, with all things, all life, all objects, all planets, stars, galaxies, universes, All Energy.
This of course also means that we, despite what is propagated by the various organised Belief Systems, are not Separate from Source, God, All There Is, but are One with that Universal Creative Consciousness. This has a huge impact on us when we realise and accept this Reality, this Truth, because it means whatever we think, say or do to others are things we are also doing to ourselves.
You may have heard proverbs or seen memes which say that whatever we think of or how we react towards those around us is a reflection, a mirror copy, of how we feel or think of ourselves and that is certainly true. So, take that idea and times it by Gazillions and extrapolate it to include everything in and around our planet, to all seen and unseen, to all animate and inanimate, to all sentient and non-sentient and then further still to our Solar System and everywhere beyond, including all the Multiverses – are you getting the picture? That’ Butterfly Effect’ suddenly becomes humongous!
“OK, so that means we have to be extremely careful about what we do, say and think and make absolutely sure it’s only Positive and Loving and not be hurtful to anything, not even mosquitos right?”
That’s a fair question however, the answer is a definite No, because there is a Balance which also has to be maintained. There are those who do believe this and do their utmost to live this way. The Jain Ascetics for example, who practice what is known as Ahimsa which means to be nonviolent, not injuring any living thing. This practice doesn’t include plant life where they are also foodstuffs, as the Jains are Vegan or Vegetarian. Rather than state that they are hypocrites, I would say they lead very balanced lives within the boundaries of their Beliefs.
And that is the point, they are Balanced. There is a Balance which has to be maintained between the Light and Shadow Energies which keep everything in order, on an even keel, so to speak. That being said, from a non-earthly perspective, we have no idea what all the other Physical Beings out there in the Whatever-Verse are doing which could be having an effect on us Energetically. Perhaps that’s where Astrology comes in and the interpretations of Planetary Alignments, but we certainly shouldn’t berate ourselves for not being Perfectly Positive or Overthink these things – hurts the brain that does, personal experience has taught me that!
What we can do instead is focus on redressing the imbalance, recalibrate our ‘Energy’ Scales whenever we feel there is too much of a shift one way or the other. For example, if we feel there is too much Negative, or Shadow Energy, in our lives then we turn up our Inner Light, give our Positivity a boost. If we feel we are shining too brightly, for example being overly enthusiastic about something, then we dim things down a little by using a simple Heart Breathing Exercise to help calm us down. It’s OK to be Negative sometimes, so long as you don’t start living there and no one is knowingly impacted in any way. This all helps to maintain the Yin Yang Balance within ourselves and, ultimately, within our world.
Now, getting back to my meditation, I thought I had cracked the secret, discovered something new and exciting. In my meditation I went down all sorts of rabbit holes which included the real reason for us being here in Form and that all our experiences were a Course of Learning we had ‘signed up’ for before making our majestic entrance into this University of Life. However, then I came across something about the Yinyang and how it was created and how it worked when put into use and, do you know what? It was a much simpler way to explain it than the Highfaluting things I was originally going to share. Humble Pie anyone?
What I discovered was that the Yinyang was, and is, part of Chinese Metaphysics and used for Guidance and/or Prediction. Now whereas much of this is already known or common knowledge, what I feel isn’t so well known, especially in the Western World, is that the Yinyang isn’t strictly about Duality at all, but Balance and Flow.
The two halves do indeed represent Spiritual and Physical with Yin being the Divine Feminine, you could say, and the Yang being the Divine Masculine. Yin is therefore Earth Energy whilst Yang is Spiritual Energy. What isn’t widely taught in our Western Culture, at least not to my knowledge, is that the eye in each half represent the fluidity of the Yinyang, both are in constant flux flowing and merging with each other and get this, becoming each other! Yin becomes Yang and vice versa.
In his book “The Ultimate Guide To Yin Yang” – which I can highly recommend – author and Founder of the Historical Ninjutsu Research Team, Antony Cummins writes:
“We often see yin as black and yang as white, but they merge into each other to form a single universe with two polar opposites and a full scale of shades in between. If something is yang it will eventually move toward yin and if it is yin it will eventually move toward yang. If there is an imbalance …. then balance needs to be restored.”
He also writes that yin and yang are born from each and yet are not separate from each other, with yin inside yang and vice versa, hence the ‘eyes’ of the ‘fish’. There’s more to it than that, but I would recommend getting his book if you want to dive into Yinyang a bit deeper than I will here. He also has a great book about I-Ching, by the way!
So how does this play out and how will this knowledge help us to restore Balance in our Topsy Turvy World? Well, in my book ‘Retrain Your Ego!’ I share about us all playing multiple Roles whilst here and that there are those who throw their agreed Script away and write their own. Rogue Players I called them, and they are one of the reasons, if not the main one, why we have so much chaotic goings on right now which is influencing the Collective Ego in a less than beneficial way. However, that, as I’ve so recently learned myself, can work both ways. Let me explain what I mean by that using a Biblical example to avoid being accused of Finger Pointing anyone in particular in our Timeline!
Of Kings and Boys
This has to do King Saul. If you are not familiar with Hebrew history, Saul was the first King of Israel appointed my God after the people demanded to have a King to rule them instead of God via the Priesthood. According to the account God wasn’t best happy about that but acquiesced and allowed them to have one and Saul was chosen. That worked very well as it was a popular choice and Saul was a good God-fearing King and always set the best example when it came to worship and looking after the Priesthood and accepting guidance from God via Samuel the Chief Prophet.
Then David came into the picture. We all have probably heard the story of how David, a young lad of around fifteen, slaying Goliath who was over nine feet tall and built like the Hulk and who was the best Champion of Israel’s main enemy of that time, the Philistine’s. King Saul was apparently enamoured by David and was taken to the King’s Court and eventually put in charge of the Army.
Saul was very taken by David, which says to me that perhaps he was a little lovestruck, but that started to change as David grew in popularity with the people and they started to favour David over Saul who then went down the opposite road and started to despise his protégé. He eventually tried to kill David who had to flee for his life. Later, King Saul was killed in battle, as was his son Jonathan, and David was crowned King.
Now that was a very condensed account of this historical event, but here in this story, we see how someone - King Saul - who started out on a very favourable footing and who then decided to rip up his script and write his own lines. He ignored warnings, stopped worshipping God correctly, his thoughts got darker and darker and decided to take his own counsel which, ultimately ended in him losing everything. From a Yinyang perspective you could say he went from Yang to Yin, which didn’t work out well.
This for me is a great example of how someone who is born into this University of Life and, for most of their time, they follow the script and as a result achieve a high level of success. Then, for whatever reason, they decide to ignore an important part of the script and, despite warnings, go their own way and deliberately abuse their Freewill to create Chaos all around them, following Egoistical Desires and even persuading others to do likewise. We all know ones like that, don’t we? Like I said, not pointing any fingers…
Just to conclude, I believe we are very much in a Yin World right now, but Yang is starting to make itself apparent and we will, in due course, feel the benefit of that.
Until Next Time,
Namaste,
