In The Beginning There Were Myths And Legends

So, what was going on before we humans entered the scene some 4 million or so years ago, according to current dating? What were the Guides, Angels, God and any other members of the Spirit Realm doing when the planet was being formed, when the microbes started swimming in the primordial soup, when mammals started to make their way onto dry land following the grasses and other vegetation? What about when the Dinosaurs ruled the oceans and land? Where were they way back then and what were they up to?

Let’s face it, Spirituality as in the various practices we see today, only became popular from the mid twentieth century, especially during Hippy Season. Yes, there were Mystics and Sages before then, but scattered far and wide and they their audiences were relatively small compared to today. They spoke to small groups, wrote manuscripts, meditated and came to various and similar conclusions about Life and why we’re here and where we’re going and such like things.

No internet in those days, no getting calls from obscure TV channels to promote themselves to vast audiences in California or Sedona, no TikTok, not even a Forum. If they wanted to reach the masses they had to write books and hope publishers would accept and promote them to wider audiences with the hope of invitations to talk on their topics to follow.

We can name a handful of the ones we know and consider to be Enlightened Ones. These include Buddha, Confucius, Lao-tzu, Rumi, Hafiz, Jesus, Solomon, Isaiah, Moses, Jeremiah and, in more modern times, we have Descartes, Einstein, Pascal, Mother Teresa, Thich Nhat Hahn, Dalai Lama and others. The number grows today as the themes discussed are more popular, made so by numerous celebrities, numerous Best Sellers lists and the odd documentary or two. The quality of what they present may not be all that great at times, but it’s still getting the message out there. Plus, you can always tell when a way of thinking or discovery becomes popular by the increasing number of Band Wagon Jumpers looking to make a quick buck or two.

But before all this, before we, as the Anatomically Modern Humans we are, appeared or the Neanderthals or the Homo Erectus or the primates they originated from, did Angels walk this earth? Were they interacting with animal or human species back then? Were they roaming the earth as dinosaurs? No-one knows, not even mentioned, no-one appears prepared to touch that particular area or poke it with a stick. So, I meditated and asked my Guides, because I wanted to know and I’ve got sticks aplenty to poke with!

I didn’t get an answer, at least not directly. The impression I got was that as the earth formed and first life appeared in the water and then on land, there was a waiting time of billions of years. What, all that time doing nought? Well, yeah, because let’s not forget, out there in Spirit Land, or in the Dark Energy Field which scientists are starting to believe is where all matter originated, Time as we know it doesn’t exist. We invented the Tick Tock Time because we wanted to be in control of everything, including each other.

As an aside, before we started following the Ticking and the Tocking, we measured our days by the rise and fall of the Sun as it appeared to us. The day could be split into chunks such as mid-morning, noon, evening etcetera by assessing where the Sun was at any particular part of the day. Months were determined by Full Moons and weeks by the phases in between. The year was split into four seasons and by counting the Full Moons and how short or long daylight was we were able to calculate the start and end of each season. What more did we need? Ah, Life was so much easier then, apart from all the disease and early deaths, feudal systems and, of course, the ever-present wars and so on.

Then came industry and life picked up pace and people, wealthy ones in particular, wanted to control others down to the second so, somewhere along the line after they discovered that Sundials were a bit limited and didn’t look great on the wrist or as a pocket adornment – “Is that a pocket sundial you have there or are you just pleased to see me?” – is where that joke potentially may have originated!

In the Eastern Hemisphere Water Clocks and Incense Clocks were being used in Ancient Egypt, Persia and China but the Tick Tocks didn’t come along until the fifteenth Century and about 100 years later the pocket watch, mainly through European engineers tinkering with various time pieces and that has continued down to today with all the digital watches and displays. ‘If we control Time, we can control all other things’ was probably the ethos back then as it is now. Not only industry and commerce but also war and conflict and punishment and entertainment are all controlled by our slavish obsession with the control of Time.

As for Spirit, God, Jehovah, Source or whatever term you wish to use, time Is, that’s it, no ifs or buts, there Is only Now. We know that don’t we? Wonderful teachers such as Eckhart Tolle have been telling us this for years and we still keep hankering on about the Past or gaze wistfully towards the Future - me included until I catch myself!

From a Source perspective Now is all there is, so, getting back to all those billions of years waiting for something worthwhile to happen, they would have been over in a flash. A bit like a biologist carrying out experiments in Petrie dishes waiting for reactions which could be instant, or they may take weeks.

On that thought, the Biologist doesn’t sit there staring at the Petrie dish trying to will something to happen, no they go off and check on other experiments they’ve got going on. In the same way Source and those He created to be his Helpers, would be preoccupied with other matters, other Universes, other dimensions or realities and so forth. They would not have been sitting around twiddling their celestial thumbs and babysitting an infant planet. My feeling is that, whilst Gaia was still very much a baby, she was left to her own devices and checked up on every now and then, much like we do when we put baby in the cot so we can watch TV in peace.

However, let’s not forget that as everything is made of the same Energy and the same Stardust on this planet, there is still that connection to Source, that Universal Consciousness, and He is very much aware of what’s happening throughout all His creation because it’s all a part, an aspect, of Him. By the way I’m using the male pronoun because that’s what I’m used to and capitalised for the same reason. Insert the pronoun of your choice if you wish to but please respect my choice as I do yours.

So, a few billion years and four Mass Extinction Events later, along come the T-Rex’s and Velociraptors, Brontosaurus and Triceratops and all the rest of the Dinosaur gang, plus possible primates and early human species, early hominids who, although they haven’t been proved to have been around back then, can’t be ruled out. No evidence found simply means ‘not as yet’, because we don’t know what we would find in the dark depths of the Marianna Trench or under the thick ice of Antarctica for example. So, when the Dinos started to make an appearance, that’s when I believe more attention was given to this third rock from the Sun. Not Source Himself directly, but via His trusted Team of what we call Archangels, Angels and, possibly, some other entities from other parts of this or other Universes. Again, can’t be ruled out.

No direct action was taken, just observation and notetaking, boxes ticked and that sort of thing. The Mass Extinctions? What about them? Oh, did the Universal Consciousness want to wipe the slate clean and start again? Possibly, however I’m not buying that. Those Natural occurrences which built up over hundreds of thousands of years were possibly growth spurts, similar to what we go through. We go from baby to toddler, from toddler to young child, from young child to teenager, from teenager to young adult, from young adult to Middle aged. Now, count those up and I think you’ll find that’s five phases in our lives, am I right?

So, as Mother Gaia, now having enjoyed her youth, partied to dawn and back every weekend, attended every festival under the Sun and then settled down, birthed a few mountains, shifted the tectonic plates around a bit, stocked the freezers and so on, eventually she enters Phase Six, Middle Age. Life begins again, she’s ready to recapture her Youth, a renaissance, except maybe just a little slower and perhaps spandex and the odd nip and tuck are needed to stay on trend and keep up with the young planets of today and… Oh bugger, Maturity and Sensibility kick in – Phase seven – time to slow down and take care of those beautiful curves, smooth the wrinkly skin, some gentle yoga for health reasons, can’t be doing with all these Gen whatever planets, much better to relax, go on a cruise and stay in the Now of things, just as we were when very young.

The next Phase, as you might have guessed, is from Maturity to Death, except we don’t die do we? You can’t kill Energy, we’re made of Energy, and it doesn’t die. It can be diverted, changed perhaps, but it can’t become non-existent. Earth, according to the Scientists who study these things intently, say we have maybe three to four billion years before our Sun expands so much and burns the planet to a frazzle before, perhaps a billion or so years later, it too burns itself up.

By the time that all takes place we should be long gone from here, setting up shop on a New Earth under New Heavens. Sound familiar? Should do, it’s mentioned a few times in the Bible and other ancient writings, just the interpretations differ.

Of course, Source, being the Universal Consciousness, may decide to interrupt the process and halt or reverse the Sun’s expansion, but I would imagine only if it’s part of His plan. If He hasn’t really interfered with Mother Gaia’s upbringing thus far, allowing Her to be a Free Spirit in the process, then why would He prevent Her physical demise knowing She can be recreated, reborn, resurrected. Food for thought that, wouldn’t you agree?

Here’s something else to ponder and take into consideration. Our Universe is said to be about 13.5 Billion years old although there’s now a line of thought that suggests it could be twice that. And it’s still expanding quite rapidly. What if our Creator is Himself still growing and is currently still a child, maybe close to a Teenager or, taking the new thought into account, approaching Adulthood? We, as humans, have a spurt of growth when we approach our teens and up to Adulthood, don’t we? Well then, is God any different in that sense?

Now, obviously that implies He’s also not alone, that there may be parents, siblings, family. “Nonsense!”, I hear you shout, “There’s only One God!” Oh really? Got absolute proof of that have you? And no, the Bible cannot be accepted as proof because it was written, by the latest findings of May 2023, some 300 years after Moses was dead and gone, transitioned back to Spirit World under very suspicious and convenient circumstances, providing he existed in the first place - that’s very much a different story!

I know I don’t have absolute proof either, all conjecture I agree but, to be fair, who’s to say I’m wrong? The same goes for what’s written in the Bible and other texts, there’s no way I could suggest they’re totally wrong. They may be written in an archaic language which is not fully understood and which is the stuff of Myths and Legends however, in every Myth and Legend there’s at least one grain of Truth. Finding those grains, ah, that’s the fun part!

Another very mysterious fact which ties in with the above is that we are now called Anatomically Modern Humans as opposed to Homo Sapiens due to a discovery in the late 1990s. We have a very unusual and, as yet, unexplained feature. We somehow made the eventful jump from, possibly Homo Sapiens or even Cro-Magnon, to Anatomically Modern Human in an apparent instant of time and became a different species, unconnected to others so far recorded. We appeared as if out of nowhere some 210,000 years ago, no fanfare or anything!

Gregg Braden covers this in some detail in his book Human by Design where he writes that two of our chromosomes, numbers 2 and 7, are actually two fused sets of chimpanzee chromosomes. Chimps are the closest primate relative we have as they share 98% of their DNA with us. This sudden change has given us the ability to use complex language, opposable thumbs, larger brain capacity and other benefits which we all take for granted today.

From that you can see how the Sumerian Texts, Egyptian Hieroglyphics and others, could have been hinting at, because who changed us? Who put us through the process to enhance our abilities and separate us from the so-called Tree of Life which scientists use to track the various species of human, and which created the hunt for the infamous Missing Link?

These Questions and many more besides deserve answers which I, nor anyone else, currently has. Still, I feel that one day, in a Future far, far away, someone will be looking back at all the stuff that’s going on right now and wonder if any of it or us were real. Myths and Legends, eh?
